Journey to Jerusalem

Journey to Jerusalem

Time and again
I, meekly moulded
The thought straying afar
No magic carpets,
No genie and lamps
Yet I did glimpse the far off world.
The clammy vineyards,
The snowcapped Alps,
The sedate Nile
And the land of seven hills
All beckoned with ardent fervor.
The city of the holy,
The spiritual abode of saints,
I come to thee,
Anoint my heart with solace,
And let the angels guide
To reach the destination unknown.
The sacred altar,
From thee emanate the holy love
A tear drop adorned the lashes
And lips murmured helplessness.
Whence the pain became pleasure?
To the painted chambers of hope
Whisk the soul, Oh, the powerful Intercessors.
Robe swaying and golden hair waving
The two heavenly angels spoke
From their divine flute flowed
A honey hot sweet
Drink! Oh! The weak veins, to ease the pain
Resurrect and trod with vigor,
For Jerusalem, the Promised Land is not too far.

Seeing Myself Through Him...

Seeing Myself Through Him...

In the piercing thorns of his crown, I see me.
In the gaping wound across his side, I see me.
In each of the seething stripes,
In each scarlet teardrop from heaven shed,
In each bruise against heaven’s holy heart,
In that aching chasm bridged with his blood,
I see the whole of me!!

A nomadic soul on a wayward sojourn,
With vanquished dreams of earthly bliss,
Empty pockets and emptier memoirs,
Once I stood at life’s crossroads,
Too blind to see even myself.

The dark wounds of yesteryears
Played a dance of deadly mirth,
Across the remnants
Of what had once been a conscience,
The headstone of a buried me,
Loomed large in atomb
Which others called a heart.

A beacon shimmered through the darkness,
And I saw you, my darling Saviour!
I saw the nail pierced hands,
Which wrought the universe,
Beckoning me to a newer dawn,
And in you I found what was lost.
IN YOU I SAW ME!

The Rain

The Rain

You rule the world
By your power and majesty,
You are the manna from heaven,
Piercing the clouds; invading the earth.
You bathe the fields of farmers;
Become their daily bread.
You are the tears of joy from heaven.
You are the wine of lovers.
You are the beautiful rain!!

A Suicide

A Suicide

Oh! Sun rises
Up on the tallest mountain
As a candle flame, behind
A black coloured blanket.

I looked round with eyes open
Glared at the large world
The endless gray coloured sand
They walked with large legs tall behind.

Vehicles with four legs
Nor can give any attention to me
I’m the only, not to be noticed
Poor being without any qualities.

Life is not but an ugly grave
Expiry smells in it.
Lot of experiences
Oh! Is it a grave……..?

I can’t bear the loneliness
I can’t live, I will die myself
The ant with many legs
Leaped into the red colored water.

Oh! It is not deep
I can’t die in it.
I can’t also go out from it.
Oh! God how can I die………?

I looked up, the white colored sky
All the others contribute a bad look on me
It is not easy to die
Yes it is not so easy....

Cry for the forest

Cry for the Forest

Rustle of trees, as the wind blows;
deep into a thicket, the ivy grows.
Through the leaves, rays of sun peep;
over the ripples of the water deep;
As drops of dew in sun glisten;
to the round of nature you listen.
A moan arises from the twigs dry;
A faint echo of hue and cry.
Try to catch! it tells a story;
of the forgotten, lost green glory.
Cut a tree. Oh! A man is brave.
Unknown he digs his own grave.
Why? It’s for our basic need
But think! Isn’t it hunger and greed?
Destroy a forest, the world is demolished;
‘Coz it keeps us healthy and nourished.
A drop of tear the trees shed;
Makes mankind futile and dead.
Protect a tree, hear the unsung melody;
this recites the forthcoming tragedy.
As they stand still to face death;
give it a single, last breath.
Alone it will survive, and the world will revive.
